Last week, Technopolis Group was in Suriname to give the first of a series of workshops on Intellectual Property (IP). The workshop was attended by local entrepreneurs and focussed on the protection and commercialisation of IP. The workshop formed the start for further coaching of several entrepreneurs on the commercialisation of IP in Suriname. Technopolis Group organised the workshop in collaboration with its US-based partner, Tambourine Innovation Ventures.
Technopolis Group is currently assisting the Government in Suriname in drafting its new IP strategy. The workshops are part of this process. The next workshop in the series will be tailored to academics and will be attended by scientist from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname.
