Technopolis Group

Technopolis Group, on behalf of the Belgian Development Agency ENABEL, is currently working on a stakeholder mapping of Benin’s digital ecosystem and supporting the implementation of a multi-actor professional organization representing the digital economy. The assignment is set in the wider implementation of the European DIGIBOOST project, aimed to support Benin’s digital ecosystem.

The DigiBoost project funded by the European Union is part of the program for competitiveness in West Africa on the 11th European Development Fund (2014-2020) whose general objective is to strengthen value chains and priority sectors defined at the level of the countries of intervention. For Benin, this project proposes to strengthen the ecosystem of the digital economy with a total budget of 2.8 million euros. The principal beneficiaries are Innovative Entrepreneurship Support Structures (incubation, acceleration, co-working and fablab services), digital startups and other organizations in Benin’s digital economy ecosystem.

The objectives of the project are to map the digital ecosystem for the whole territory of Benin and to contribute to the definition of the methods of collaboration of the members between themselves as well as with the external actors identified (research organizations, public sector, clusters, banks…). All in all, the project will contribute to strengthening Benin’s digital ecosystem and improving the efficiency of the service and support offered to companies, to accelerate their emergence and growth.

Matthieu Lacave and Morgane Veillet Lavallée are working together on this assignment until the end of July 2022.
