Sieme Gewald works as an analyst at Technopolis in Amsterdam. She has a background in political economy and environmental policy. Sieme has strong analytical skills and is trained in both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods, including in-depth interviews, case studies, surveys, statistic analysis and social network analysis.
Currently, Sieme works in the Green Economy team in Dutch, Flemish, and European context. Sieme has worked on evaluations and studies focused on innovation, sustainability, renewable energy and environmental policy.
Prior to her time at Technopolis, Sieme worked as a researcher at the Southern African Institute for Policy and Research (SAIPAR). Here, she conducted research on Climate Finance coordination in Sub-Saharan Africa and did fieldwork in Zambia. Sieme has gained experience as a trainee at Public Matters, specialising in governance and policy processes in Dutch and EU context. Sieme obtained her BSc Political Science from the University of Amsterdam and her MSc Global Environmental Governance from VU University Amsterdam. She specialised in political economy, sustainable development and environmental policy and gained extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection as a student assistant. She is fluent in English and Dutch.
