Vivek Seth is an experienced public policy consultant who has worked in policy research, evaluation, and consultancy for over fifteen years. He is particularly experienced in projects centred on enterprise, innovation policy, and local economic development. Previous assignments include evaluations, appraisals and economic impact assessments for a range of local, national and national government clients. Vivek is also experienced in using a wide range of research methodologies including interviews, desk research, literature reviews, data analysis and economic impact modelling. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vivek brings experience in evaluating the impact of local and regional economic development programmes. Most notably he has managed Technopolis\u2019 inputs to the case study evaluations of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) for the Ministry of Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG), one of the largest evaluations ever commissioned by the UK Government. This local economic development and regeneration programme includes business support, public realm, and employability initiatives. Vivek has also closely worked on the evaluations of local business support and entpreneurship programmes. He played a QA role in our evaluation of the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT)\u2019s University Enterprise Zones pilot, the Royal Academy of Engineering\u2019s Regional Talents Engine entrepreneurship programme, and managed the evaluation of Be the Business\u2019 Collaborative Networks scheme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Vivek is an experienced mixed-methods researcher. He has led the theory-based evaluation components of our evaluation of the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ)\u2019s Heat Pump Ready programme and BEIS\u2019 Growth Hubs evaluation. He was also the economic impact lead for our work examing the impact of the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC)\u2019s Business Improvement Directorate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Vivek worked as a policy consultant for SQW where he worked on a range of assignments for Local Enterprise Partnerships, local authorities, national government departments and the European Commission. Vivek was the research lead for a project examining the economic and wider benefits of Dstl\u2019s commercialisation activities, he was closely involved in a study examining the scale and nature of the motorsport cluster in Silverstone, and he managed the study on workspace demand amongst small businesses in Winchester. He also manged several that demonstrated the economic impact of residential and commercial building programmes to the local economy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
