Thomas joined the UK Green Economy Team as an Analyst in June 2024. He specializes in public policy evaluation, particularly in the areas of environment and energy policy. Through his academic and professional experiences, he has developed a range of qualitative and quantitative research skills, including statistical analysis, surveys, literature research, and literature reviews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
At Technopolis, he has provided services to both DESNZ and Defra, conducting policy and impact evaluations of renewable resource and energy programs. Recently, he has contributed to the Flexibility and Innovation Programme, including conducting and coordinating interviews and surveys, as well as contributing to data analysis. Additionally, he was involved in Defra’s evaluation of the single-use plastic ban, where he analysed survey data, conducted interviews with the British Plastics Federation, and contributed to the final process evaluation report. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before joining the Technopolis Group, Thomas worked with Brighton and Hove City Council’s Regeneration team, monitoring and evaluating the impacts of planning policy across the city. He was also involved in monitoring and reporting on waste data as part of the Authority Monitoring Report (AMR). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Thomas holds a BA in Geography from the University of Exeter and an MA in Environment, Development, and Policy from the University of Sussex. His academic interests include carbon offsetting, the green economy, and the political economy of the environment.
