Congratulations, you’ve landed a job as incident commander for flood\nforecasts! That’s the starting point of the IMPREXive\nserious game<\/a> developed by Arctik<\/a> in which\nplayers have to protect their city from floods. Only solid problem-solving and\nanalytic skills will see them through a flood crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a so-called \u2018serious game\u2019, the IMPREXive game is more than a fun\npastime. It wants to draw attention to the role forecasts can play in managing\nincreasingly frequent extreme weather. That’s why the game shows different ways\nof interpreting hydrological forecasts. It also spotlights how hard it can be\nto make decisions based on such forecasts. Players quickly discover that it\u2019s\npretty tough to land a spot on the leader board.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
