Dr. Pieter Heringa is a principal\nconsultant at Technopolis Group. He has over ten years of experience in various\nroles at the interface between science and policy, primarily in the domains of\nresearch, innovation and education. He<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pieter was recently involved in several\nstrategic trajectories to strengthen and improve innovation policy. He\ncollaborated in a peer review of Danish research- and innovation policy and he\ncontributed to the start of mission-driven innovation policy in the\nNetherlands. Currently he conducts several policy evaluations and he develops\nimpact indicators for a worldwide network of innovation agencies (TAFTIE).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to joining Technopolis Group,\nPieter worked at the Knowledge and Strategy Department of the Ministry of\nEducation, Culture and Science in The Netherlands. His responsibilities\nincluded the coordination of a programme to improve the quality of policy\nmonitoring and evaluations and the development of the strategic research agenda\nfor the ministry. He also was a member of the Dutch delegation for the\nEducation Policy Committee at the OECD, and member of the programming council\nfor basic research at the funding agency for education research (NRO). Before\nthat, he was a senior policy official at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and\nClimate Policy, where he worked on strategic issues in innovation policy, with\na specific focus on the governance of Research and Technology Organisations. He\nalso coordinated the first overall evaluation of Dutch RTOs and represented the\nNetherlands in the Committee for Science and Technology Policy at the OECD. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pieter holds an MSc degree (with distinction) in Development\nEconomics from Wageningen University and a PhD from Delft University of\nTechnology, with a thesis on the role of proximity in collaborative knowledge\nproduction. He started his career as a researcher at the Rathenau Institute; an\nindependent think tank (part of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and\nSciences) that conducts research and organises debates on science, innovation\nand new technology.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"template":"","class_list":["post-19672","expert","type-expert","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
