Liz has a strong academic grounding in research and evaluation methods built upon with over eight years of consultancy experience. She has a particular interest in programmes and policies focused on sustainability and the pathway to net zero. Key themes in the projects she has worked upon include technology development and innovation, energy, building retrofit, agriculture, and resource and waste management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
She has project managed and led methodological development, analysis and reporting for numerous evaluations. These have included process, impact and economic evaluations, including use of theory based methods such as Contribution Analysis, and a range of data collection and analysis methods such as qualitative interviews, surveys, workshops, case studies, desk research, literature reviews and statistical analysis. Recent project examples include evaluations for the UK government Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) of: two energy storage innovation programmes; Waves 1 and 2.1 of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund; and the non-domestic private rental sector Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards. Liz has also contributed to projects for the European Commission, for example, examining options for the EU Emissions Trading Scheme post 2030 for DG CLIMA, and for UK Research & Innovation, for example, the evaluation of the Transforming UK Food Systems programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Liz worked for another consultancy, working with a range of government and not for profit clients including the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the Scottish Government, Zero Waste Scotland and the Waste and Resources Action Partnership (WRAP). <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Liz has a PhD in social policy from the University of Nottingham. She obtained her undergraduate diploma in Politics, Philosophy & Economics from the University of Oxford and her Masters degree in Social Research from the University of Warwick.
