Dominik Obeth is a Public Policy Consultant at the Berlin office of Technopolis, specialising in digital policy issues as well as topics related to research and innovation. He has extensive experience in ex-post and formative evaluations, as well as in conducting studies for national institutions such as the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), European organisations like the European Commission, and non-profit entities such as the Stifterverband.
Currently, he is involved in the evaluation of Base4NFDI, an initiative aimed at advancing research data infrastructures, as well as other projects for the BMBF. He has expertise in various qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, desk research, and econometric analyses, and is skilled in applying a range of data science techniques.
Before joining the Technopolis Group, Dominik worked for the German National Academy of Science and Engineering (acatech), where he contributed to the development of a Circular Economy (CE) roadmap for Germany on behalf of the BMBF and co-authored several reports on various relevant CE topics. Additionally, he gained experience working at a foundation and a public relations agency specialising in financial communications.
Dominik holds a Bachelor’s degree in European Studies from the University of Passau and a Master’s degree in Politics & Technology from the Technical University of Munich. During his undergraduate studies, he spent two semesters abroad at the University of Granada. Dominik is a native German speaker, fluent in English and Spanish, and has advanced basic knowledge of French and Portuguese.
