Carlijn Schumacher is a Consultant at Technopolis B.V. in Amsterdam. She mainly works on projects in the domains of entrepreneurship, SMEs, energy and sustainability. Carlijn has strong analytical skills, an interdisciplinary approach to policy and is trained in a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods, such as literature research, interviews, surveys, statistical analyses and case studies. 

Carlijn has been involved in a large variety of projects at the EU, national and regional level. For instance, her recent work includes evaluations of Proof-of-concept Funding, the Partners for International Business scheme and of Science Communication Expertise Cells. She has also conducted several studies on the role of education and human capital in the energy transition and on financial support for creative industries.

Before working at Technopolis Group, Carlijn was commercial manager at MaGie Creations. This is a circular startup that developed an innovative production method to produce a functional ingredient from brewer’s waste. Carlijn obtained her bachelor’s degree BSc Tourism from Wageningen University & Research in the Netherlands. During this period, she specialized in Environmental Economics at Ryerson University in Toronto. Carlijn obtained the MSc Economic Behaviour & Policy at Radboud University and is fluent in English and Dutch.
