Science is providing more and more reliable information of climate change and its impacts across different domains. Yet a significant gap exists to make our economy and society more resilient to climate shocks and climate variability.

Technopolis Group is please to announce Climate-fit.city’s contribution to the organization of the workshop ‘Climate services for a climate-resilient Europe’ which will take place on the 2nd December 2020, 9:00-15:00 CET. The workshop is organized in collaboration with the European Commission, EASME Executive Agency, and Climateurope, alongside co-organizing projects MED-GOLD, S2S4E and VISCA.

This workshop will showcase the added value and potential of climate services to contribute bridging this gap and mainstreaming adaptation into decision making. It will also discuss needs and constraints towards creating impact at the scale needed to make Europe more resilient to climate change.

It moves from the experience and lessons learnt of a portfolio of demonstration projects funded through Horizon 2020 which worked hand in hand with end users in different sectors, and were able to integrate the developed services in their decision-making procedures at pre-operational and operational level.

Success stories, lessons learnt and remaining challenges from Climate-fit.city will be presented during the breakout session by our experts. They will be discussing the following:

The breakout session will be moderated by Katrien Witpas from Arctik, Technopolis Group’s communications office. Arctik is member of the Climate-fit.city consortium and is leading the project’s communications activities.
