Sophie Viscido is a Principal Consultant at Technopolis Group Belgium. She has a strong expertise in public policy analysis especially in science, technology and innovation. She has experience with a wide range of analytical methods and data collection tools, including workshops, interviews, surveys, case studies, literature reviews, statistical analysis and benchmarking studies.

She has managed and contributed to various research and policy projects, such as most recently the study on the role of Research and Technology Organisations (RTOs) in delivering on the Transitions with the OECD, the study on the implementation of an EU Strategy for Technology Infrastructures with the JRC, or the benchmarking analysis of 11 RTOs for the RTOs’ International Network. Sophie is currently involved in the Horizon2020 EOSC-Future project as chair of the Project Management Board.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Sophie was Senior Advisor for Policy Strategy and Analysis at EARTO, the European Association of RTOs (network of 350 members). She managed the policy team, developed strategic policy reports, coordinated projects with external stakeholders, managed the database on RTOs’ key performance indicators, chaired the four policy working groups (50 to 150 experts each), and coordinated the informal group of 50+ industry and RTOs stakeholders. Prior to that Sophie covered policy issues in the field of Transport for similar EU stakeholders’ associations.

Based in Brussels, Sophie is a French national graduated in EU Affairs and Public Policies at Sorbonne-Nouvelle University, and she obtained a master’s degree in European Economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She is fluent in French, English and Italian, and has an advanced knowledge of Spanish.
