Veerle Bastiaanssen
Senior Consultant
Veerle Bastiaanssen is a consultant at
Technopolis Group, based at the Amsterdam office. She is mainly involved in
projects on Green Economy and Life Sciences and Health. Veerle has an affinity
for policy research, and a background in both qualitive and quantitative
research methods, such as stakeholder interviews, desk research, literature
study, stakeholder analysis, data-analysis and workshops.
Veerle has been involved a large variety of
projects at the EU, national and regional level. Currently she is the assistant
project leader on a study for the Province of South Holland on the innovation ecosystems
surrounding the bioeconomy in the province. She is also working on an
end-of-grant evaluation for the Medicine’s Patent Pool for Unitaid, for this
project she is leading the desk review and is heavily involved in interviews,
analysis and reporting as well. In the past, she has also been involved in
several studies on the European level such as the European Resource Efficiency
Knowledge Centre, a study supporting the EU Orphan legislation for the European
Commission and the ex-ante Impact Assessment of the Institutionalized
Partnerships for DG RTD.
Veerle holds a Master’s degree in Governance
and Management of Complex Systems at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam. She
interned at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, where she was a part of the
team that designed the governance of the Dutch Energy Transition. Her master
thesis was focused on governmental collaboration to replace fossil fuels in the
heating of existing houses. Veerle has a bachelor’s degree in Public
Administration and Organizational Sciences from Utrecht University with a minor
in Journalism. Veerle
is fluent in both English and Dutch.
