Melina Addix recently joined Technopolis Group Belgium as an intern in the Green Transformation line.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Melina worked as an intern on the LIFE ENPLC project at Eurosite, the European Land Conservation Network where she conducted a case study on the process of formulating and setting up an innovative legal land conservation tool in various EU Member States and abroad. In 2023, Melina has been elected board member of Eurosite. In addition, she has worked as a legal intern in two German legal firms and was an accounting assistant for invoicing.

Melina holds a bachelor’s degree in Comparative and European Law from the University of Oldenburg and graduated in 2024 from the University of Groningen with a master’s degree in European Law in a Global Context. Throughout her academic career she focused on environmental law and policies, including interdisciplinary research. For instance, her bachelor’s thesis analysed digital sequence information on genetic resources under the Convention on Biological Diversity and her master’s thesis explored the effectiveness of EU Environmental Directives in protecting biodiversity taking into consideration biological and ecological perspectives. Furthermore, she has expertise on, inter alia, the Regulation on Deforestation-free Products, EIA Directive, and Competition Policy.

She is fluent in German, English, and Dutch, and has a basic knowledge of French and Spanish.
