Dominik Obeth and Jan Biela had the opportunity to present the results of the Base4NFDI evaluation at the CoRDI conference in Aachen on 26 August 2025. Base4NFDI is a joint initiative of all consortia of the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) for the development of basic services that can be significant for all NFDI consortia and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The evaluation focussed on the processes, project structure and relevance of Base4NFDI. The results are largely positive. Among other things, we recommend the creation of long-term funding models, a sharpening of the application and funding process, a strengthening of strategic considerations in the current bottom-up process, as well as the establishment of a \u2018task lead\u2019 level in the project structure to promote faster decision-making and to improve coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
