Ameera Dabbous joined the UK Green Economy team as an Analyst in March of 2023. She has developed expertise in policy processes with a recent particular interest in environmental and energy policy. Ameera is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods which she has gained from her academic and professional experience. Prior to joining Technopolis, she worked at a green hydrogen start-up developing her industry knowledge of UK hydrogen policies as well as gaining business development experience. Ameera also worked at UNDP as a Research Intern where she took part in developing an Index that aimed at measuring sustainable development in the MENA region. Additionally, she has worked in research at an international development institution in Lebanon working within public policy projects focussing on digital transformation and governance in the region.

Recently, Ameera has contributed to evaluations of UK Energy policies such as Domestic and Non-domestic Demand Side Response Competitions, Flexibility Exchange Demonstration Competition, and Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage projects for the Department of Energy Securit and Net Zero (DESNZ). Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Ameera completed her MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex in 2022. Her dissertation focussed on Decentralised energy systems in Lebanon, looking at Renewable Energy uptake and exploring the urban applicability as well as the social acceptance of solar power in Beirut. Concluding her research study with policy recommendations. Prior to this, she studied Economics and Public Policy for her Bachelor’s degree at the American University of Beirut. Ameera is fluent in English and Arabic, and has some basic French language skills.
