Technopolis Group conducted an evaluation of the research programme “Spara och bevara”. The programme was initiated by the Swedish Energy Agency to increase expertise in energy efficiency in cultural heritage buildings.

The purpose of the evaluation was to assess whether the activities are planned and conducted in line with the description in the Agency’s decision. The evaluation included both a scientific assessment and an assessment of early results and impacts of the projects.

Technopolis Group found that the program is clearly relevant to the Agency’s area of responsibility; the vast majority of projects deal with issues relevant to achieving greater energy efficiency. The programme’s utility and relevance for users is thus clear, but it is sometimes inadequately described how these can assimilate results from the projects or implement these results.
