To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, especially in the transport sector, comprehensive action on the national and local level is needed. Municipalities play a central role as they have a direct impact on local conditions. Municipal greenhouse gas balances offer a tool for monitoring progress in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and for identifying fields of action.
Technopolis Group Germany, along with Arctik – Communication for Sustainability, designed a recently released brochure on municipal greenhouse gas balance for the transport sector in Hesse. It serves as a practice-oriented guide for municipalities in Hesse including information on the different steps of a greenhouse gas balance for the transport sector, the availability of data and application possibilities. The brochure has been commissioned by the Fachzentrum Nachhaltige Mobilitätsplanung Hessen.
