Alessia Iannacci is an analyst based in the Brussels office of Technopolis Group. She is part of the Digital Line, where she provides policy consulting for the European Commission in relation to the world of urban and regional development, R&I, entrepreneurship and digital transformation.
She is part of the Intelligent Cities Challenge team (DG GROW and EISMEA), the EC initiative that supports cities towards the green and digital transition of their local economies. She has also taken part in writing the report witnessing the digital and green transformation in European SMEs (DG GROW).
Prior to joining Technopolis, Alessia gained experience in the world of Belgian R&I by doing research and promoting innovative entrepreneurs in Leuven, Brussels and in the region of Vlaams Brabant. She was one of the Young Observers selected by the Research Executive Agency of the European Commission for the 2022 Horizon Europe calls. In her role as Young Observer, she gained experience in how Horizon Europe projects are evaluated and took a lead role in writing the Young Observers report for her call as rapporteur.
Alessia obtained a Master’s degree in Political Science (EU affairs, politics & Government) at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Political Science at La Sapienza, University of Rome and completed courses on Methodology in Social Science given by the University of Amsterdam (UvA), thanks to which she acquired knowledge on quantitative and qualitative methods as well as on inferential statistics.
Alessia is an Italian speaker, is fluent in English and French, and she has a basic level in Spanish and German.
