Rita Wainess is a consultant with the Green Economy Team of the Technopolis Group. Rita is an experienced project manager and evaluator, with a a focus in climate adaptation and mitigation, natural resources, circular economy, just trasitions, and low-carbon development and innovation. She has applied a range of methods in evaluations and assessments, such as process tracing, and causal analysis, using primary and secondary data collection through interviews, surveys, case studies, and document and literature review.
Rita has international experience in monitoring and evaluation, document preparations (e.g., assessment and evaluation reports, policy analysis and briefs), leading presentations and teaching sessions, partner communications, and conference and event organization. Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Rita worked for the Erik E. and Edith H. Bergstrom Foudnation as a senior project associate, managing programmes in the human rights and devlopment field in East Africa. She has completed internships in sustainability assessments and water management in Northern Thailand, monitoring and evaluation in peacebuilding with Search for Common Ground in Washington, D.C., and communications and analytical work with the International Relations Office of the National University of Singapore.
Rita completed her MSc in Sustainable Developmet at the Science Policy Research Unit of the University of Sussex Business School, with focus on multi-level perspectives in sustainable transitions, energy policy, natural resources in Latin America, and a dissertaiton on material efficiency policy in low carbon innovation in the UK. She received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of California, Berkeley in Interdisciplinary Studies: Peace and Conflict, History, and Sociology. She is fluent in English and Russian, with knowledge of French and Spanish.
