Iakov Frizis is a Senior Consultant at Technopolis Group, specialising in (quantitative methods for) impact evaluation, data collection, the compilation of quantitative and qualitative evidence, and the development of interactive data visualisations. Iakov has extensive experience in designing and applying impact assessment techniques, including the use of the OECD’s Better Criteria for Better Evaluation, the UK Green book and the European Commission’s Better Regulation: Guidelines and Toolbox. Iakov is also skilled in developing customised interactive visualisation tools for the effective communication of key findings.
Iakov holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Finance from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and a Master’s degree in International Economic Policy, with a specialisation in International Energy Markets and the Middle East, from the Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po.
Iakov’s recent projects include the Evaluation of Non-Domestic Energy Affordability Support for the UK Government; the Study on a Long-Term Research and Innovation Agenda Towards 2050 Climate Neutrality; a Scoping Study for Marine Natural Capital SocioEconomic Monitoring; REFEREE: The Real Value of Energy Efficiency; the Job Impact Quantification of a Shift in Dutch and French Export Finance Support Away from Fossil Fuels; and the ESM Impact Evaluation of the Second and Third Financial Assistance Programmes offered to Greece.
Before joining Technopolis Group, Iakov worked as a Managing Economist for Cambridge Econometrics, a Senior Associate for PwC Luxembourg, an Economist for the Center for Social and Economic Research in Poland, and as an external expert for Sciences Po Junior Consulting. Iakov is also a founding member of the Women in Economics Initiative, an international non-profit organisation that promotes gender inclusion in the field of economics.
Iakov is fluent in English, Greek and French, and has a basic understanding of German and Italian.
