Mariette Blokhuis (MSc) is a Principal Consultant at Technopolis B.V. with more than 25 years of experience in consultancy, management, and policy positions in education and research. She is a highly experienced project leader with strong evaluation expertise and in-depth knowledge of the higher education and research sector, both in the Netherlands and abroad.

At Technopolis B.V., her work focuses on themes such as higher education, research and innovation, and internationalisation. She has thorough knowledge of a wide range of research methods, including interviews, surveys, workshops, case studies, scenario analyses, data management, and data visualisation. She also has extensive expertise in education and science policy, as well as quality assurance, legislation and regulation, funding, and governance in higher education and research. Mariette works across the full policy cycle: from strategy to policy to implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. Her current clients include OCW, NWO, universities, Economic Boards, the European Commission, and national and international umbrella and network organisations.

Before joining Technopolis B.V., Mariette held senior positions including Head of Academic Affairs at the University of Amsterdam and Director of Strategy, Education and Research at Radboud University Nijmegen. She has an academic background in medical anthropology (MSc, University of Amsterdam) and is fluent in Dutch and English.
