Technopolis Group

TAFTIE, the leading association of European innovation agencies, supports its members with a Structural Network of Benchmarking. Benchmarking is of high value for learning and accountability, as it gives insight the degree effectiveness and efficiency of innovation instruments such as R&D-grants, innovation vouchers and clusters. A significant challenge in such benchmarking is to have comparable indicators in order to avoid comparing apples and oranges. Technopolis, following up on earlier study in 2015 that focused on input, activity and output indicators, will support the SNB and 14 innovation agencies in mapping current M&E-practices, harmonizing outcome & impact indicators and provide guidance in the further development of robust monitoring systems, including the use of data from national statistical agencies.
