Lia Federici is a business development specialist. She has developed expertise in coordinating the acquisition process, market research, business intelligence and reporting to the Group. Lia has also acquired expertise in public policy evaluation. She has contributed to evaluations, impact assessment and studies for European institutions. She has applied successfully a range of methods such as interviews, surveys, case studies, desk research, mapping exercise. She has also organised several workshops and international conferences.  

Recently, Lia has been involved in several studies and evaluations for the European Commission (DG GROW, DG RTD, DG JUST, DG MOVE). Her main areas of expertise are public procurement, dual-use, IPRs, migrant entrepreneurship, SMEs, open innovation, insolvency regulation and trade.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Lia worked for the Joint Institute for Innovation Policy (JIIP) in Brussels. During this time, she supported the business development activities and contributed to several projects on innovation policy. Previously, she worked at DG TRADE (WTO coordination) as a Blue Book trainee and at the Permanent Representation of Italy to the EU on trade policy and transatlantic relations.

Lia holds a Bachelor Degree and MSc in Economics and Management of Public Administrations and International Institutions (Bocconi University, Milan), and a MA in European Political and Administrative Studies (College of Europe, Bruges). In addition, she participated in the Exchange Programme at the University of Minnesota (USA), and attended a summer course at NYU (USA). She is Italian native speaker, fluent in English, and has a good knowledge of French and Spanish.
