Tobias Dudenbostel is Principal Consultant in the Viennese office with over a decade of experience in the are of Science, Technology and Innovation policy studies for national and European clients. His diverse project portfolio is anchored in STI, with a particular focus on evaluating research and innovation funding schemes, or activities fostering exchange, mobility, radical innovation or science-industry cooperation.

Tobias commonly designs and employs diverse evaluation approaches ranging from ex-post evaluations like the evaluation of the Competence Centre Programme (COMET) that aims to foster industry-science cooperation or of the programme TECTRANS intended to internationalise the activities of Austrian companies, both for the Austrian Ministry for Climate Action (BMK), to more accompanying evaluation techniques, as used e.g. for the evaluation of the Citizen Science activities of the German Ministry for Research and Education or for the evaluation of “Expedition Future”, a programme for break-through innovations set up by the Austrian FFG.

Tobias is co-host of the Revaluation Podcast by the Austrian Platform for Research and Technology Policy Evaluation and is also Technopolis Austria’s representative within the platform. Within Technopolis Group, he is one of the coaches of the internal evaluation training.

Before joining Technopolis, Tobias worked in several Institutes of Advanced Studies in Germany and Austria as well as in the Mendel Museum Brno (CZ), where he put together an exhibition about Mendel’s life, science and beliefs. He finished the interdisciplinary master programme ‘History, Philosophy and Sociology of Science’ at the University of Bielefeld and the University of Vienna with a focus on the sociology and history of science. His master thesis dealt with medical dissertations written at the University of Vienna during National Socialism.
