Technopolis is currently leading two of the UK Research Assessment studies for the UK funding bodies: a review of the 2021 Research Excellence Framework (REF) costs and benefits and the analysis of REF outputs.
157 UK universities submitted to the REF and expert sub-panels reviewed 185,594 research outputs and 6,781 case studies. The Review of REF costs and benefits involves a comparison with the cost of the 2014 exercise drawing on data from the 2014 Accountability Review, that was also delivered by Technopolis.
