Commissioned by the Research Centre and Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sport, and Culture, a new report from Technopolis Group and 3S explores the growing adoption of the European Sustainability Competence Framework (GreenComp) across a wide range of geographies and levels of education.

Through twelve case studies and their cross-analysis, the report examines how GreenComp is supporting the development of sustainability competences for learners and educators in formal, informal and non-formal educational settings. It provides valuable insights into how education and training stakeholders are leveraging GreenComp. The report also, highlights lessons learnt and puts forward recommendations to help foster the take up of GreenComp in the future.

In an interview, Lisa Nieth, PhD, from Technopolis Germany, shared the key findings and recommendations from the study. The recommendations focus on supporting the further uptake of GreenComp in the future, through the provision of practical tools, tailored communication and dissemination efforts, and the need to ensure its maintained relevance by being responsive to emerging needs.
