Niko Wilke has developed expertise in public policy evaluation with a recent particular interest in the twin transition and digital policy. He has contributed to evaluations, impact assessment and studies for European and national public bodies. He has applied successfully a range of methods such as interviews, surveys, case studies, desk research, literature reviews and benchmarking studies.

Before joining Technopolis Group, Niko served as a Consultant for PD, the in-house consultancy of the German federal government, where he contributed to various projects focused on the digitalisation and modernisation of public administration. Prior to that, he worked as a Junior Expert Advisor at the Austrian Institute of Technology in Vienna, where he was involved in evaluating the Horizon Europe Program and helped develop a roadmap on human centricity in the manufacturing sector for DG RTD, as well as the Austrian Startup Monitor for the Ministry of Labour and Economy.

During his studies, Niko researched smart cities, the Green New Deal, and 3D printing at KIT. Earlier, he worked at Goethe University Frankfurt and the University of Bielefeld, studying political polarization and social bots on Twitter. He also spent a year in the public sector and interned at IZT in Berlin, contributing to a report for the German Parliament on the influence of search engines and social networks for public opinion formation.

Niko obtained his undergraduate diploma and his Masters Degree in Sociology and Political Science from the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and also studied in Turku, Bielefeld and Lisbon. He is fluent in German and English and has advanced knowledge of Spanish.
