Dureen is a consultant at Technopolis Group Amsterdam with a thematic focus on science policy, innovation and international collaboration. Dureen has experience in literature reviews, bibliometric analysis, case study writing and expert interviews, moderating multistakeholder workshops and organizing conferences.

Prior to joining Technopolis, Dureen worked at the International Science Council on policy for science projects. She coordinated a three-year IDRC grant for a landscape study with the goal of capacity and network building in the Global South for strengthening the science and research ecosystem with the help of emerging technologies. She was also a Policy Officer trainee at the Scientific Advice Mechanism of DG RTD supporting the secretariat for managing literature reviews and finalizing the process for recommendations for the Commission on mandated topics. She previously worked in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on development projects for STEM education for young women.

Dureen holds a PhD in developmental Biology and an MSc in Biomedical Research. She has studied and worked in different countries including Paris, Brussels, Riyadh, Barcelona, London and Ramallah.

Dureen’s native languages are Arabic and English, she is also fluent in Spanish and French.
