The second Advanced Technologies for Industry webinar, ‘Monitoring Skills Supply and demand in Advanced Technologies for Industry’ will be held on November 25th, 2020.
In the midst of policy discussions about the supply and demand for advanced and digital technological skills, novel data sources can provide fresh insights into the topic of the new skills agenda. The ATI project used LinkedIn data with the aim to enriching the understanding of the supply of skills with a level of granularity that is not available in any of the traditional data sources. The share of skilled professionals employed across different economic sectors can also give some indication about the level of technology uptake in industry.
In this context, the online policy seminar will:
- introduce the Advanced Technologies for Industry project,
- present the ATI analysis on skills based on LinkedIn,
- discuss the results of recent other projects using novel data sources for capturing skills,
- identify gaps in knowledge and brainstorm how to better match policy needs and data collection.
The event will be held on the 25th of November 2020 between 09:30 and 12:30 CET.

Ahead of this webinar, the ATI Project published report on “Meeting the sectoral skills challenge in advanced technologies”, provides an analysis of the skills challenge advanced technologies in the EU and other global competitors in particular for six elected sectors. In addition, the report review the European policy framework supporting advanced technology skills especially for sectors and provide examples on sectoral skills initiatives at national level.
