Sophie Young is an Analyst at Technopolis UK across science and technology policy. Based in the London office, Sophie is experienced in a range of methods, including: case studies, survey analysis, interviews, desk research and literature reviews. 

During her internship at Technopolis UK, Sophie assisted in reports for DSIT, Innovate UK, and the Royal Society. Prior to joining Technopolis UK, Sophie interned at the Electoral Integrity Project assisting in the 5th Annual Electoral Integrity Conference (2025), and co-authored a brief for the European Institute for Asian Studies.

Sophie completed an MA in Public Policy and Public Management, and BA in Global Development with Politics both from the University of East Anglia. Her MA dissertation, titled: “Behind the Algorithm: Mapping Power, Influence, and Exclusion in Artificial Intelligence Policy”, utilised network analysis to explain and analyse the power dynamics between actors within the policymaking process.
