Ameera Dabbous is a Consultant on the UK Green Economy team at Technopolis. She has developed knowledge and expertise in sustainable transitions, development and energy policy. Ameera is skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methods which she has gained from her background in economics as well as her professional experience. Her qualitative research skills include conducting in-depth interviews with diverse stakeholder groups, developing detailed case studies, and literature reviews. Within reports, she works with both quantitative and qualitative data analysis to measure impacts and help inform policy decisions. Additionally, Ameera is well versed in smart system technologies and their role in the transition to clean energy. Through her research, she integrates multiple methodologies to provide evidence-based insights that support sustainable innovation and policy development.
During her time at Technopolis, Ameera has contributed to Process and Impact evaluations of UK support programmes focused on energy storage and smart systems for the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). Evaluating how these programmes support innovative SMEs accelerate their technologies under the goal of decarbonisation and net zero such as for the Storage at Scale and Longer Duration Energy Storage programmes, Energy Entrepreneurs Fund 8-9 programmes, and the Heat Pump Ready programme.
Prior to joining Technopolis, Ameera worked at a green hydrogen start-up developing her industry knowledge of UK hydrogen policies. She has worked in research at an international development institution in Lebanon on public policy projects – developing an Index that aimed at measuring sustainable development in the MENA region. While also working on indicator research and analysis at UNDP. Ameera completed her MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex. Her dissertation focussed on Decentralised energy systems in Lebanon. Prior to this, she studied Economics and Public Policy for her Bachelor’s degree. Ameera is fluent in English and Arabic, and has some basic French language skills.
