Deborah Kirchgässner works as a Research Assistant in the Frankfurt office of the Technopolis Group. She has extensive experience in qualitative and quantitative methods of empirical social sciences, such as interviews, surveys, statistical methods, literature reviews, and desk research. Her areas of focus include international relations and international cooperation, social cohesion, social participation, and sustainable development.
Before joining the Technopolis Group, Deborah worked as a research assistant at various research institutes, such as the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA) in Hamburg, the Research Institute for Social Cohesion (FGZ) in Frankfurt, and the Peace Research Institute Frankfurt (PRIF). In her work at the FGZ, she participated in a sub-project on “Communities under Suspicion” as part of the study “Institutions & Racism” funded by the BMI and BMFTR. In her master’s thesis, she also conducted a comprehensive discourse analysis on the media’s negotiation of the legitimacy of protest.
Deborah holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Hamburg and an MA in International Studies / Peace and Conflict Studies from Goethe University Frankfurt and TU Darmstadt. She also studied European Studies and European Culture & Languages for one year at the University of Dundee, UK. She is fluent in German and English, has a good knowledge of Spanish (B1) and a basic knowledge of French (A1).
