Isabel Scholz is a Policy Analyst and Data Scientist in the Digital economy & advanced technologies line at the Brussels office of Technopolis Group. She applies quantitative research methods to support policy analysis in the fields of digital, industrial, and innovation policy. She contributes to the delivery of several projects for European clients. Recent relevant projects include: Study to Develop and Refine complementary indicators and anlysis for the EU R&D Investment Scoreboard (DG RTD), Study to support the evaluation and review of Audiovisual Media Services Directive (DG CNECT) and Study on Composition, Trajectories and Outcomes of EIC Pathfinder and EIC Transition Project (EISMEA). Alongside her studies, Isabel worked as a research assistant, contributing to the compilation of datasets through web scraping and computer vision techniques. During her academic training, she developed expertise in a wide range of research methods, including desk research, literature reviews, advanced statistical analysis, machine learning model development, automated text analysis, and the use of large language models.
Isabel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Vrije Universiteit Brussel and a Master’s degree in Statistics and Data Science from KU Leuven. She is fluent in German and English and has a basic knowledge of French and Dutch.
