Laura is a consultant at Technopolis with particular experience in research funding programmes, regional development and Higher Education. In terms of thematic expertise, Laura has worked on several new technologies and good practices in the pursuit of Net Zero in the UK and overseas.

To this end, she has reviewed the developments in the field of engineering biology, studied quantum sensors as an emerging technology, and supported the evaluation of the physics science funding framework programme ‘Exploration of the Universe and Matter’ (ErUM) of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, BMBF. Moreover, Laura has been a central project member in assessing research funding for environmental resilience (several studies for the Lloyd’s Register Foundation), various interventions to peer review (for the UKRI), and HEI partnerships for the UN SDGs.

Laura’s wider experience include several country profiles of Finland, characterising elements like the energy communities landscape (for Nordic Energy Research), funding for public service media (for DG CNCT), and modes of student financing (for the European Investment Bank).

Laura is a native Finnish speaker, proficient in English has a basic level of proficiency in Swedish.
