Diego Eslava is a Policy Data Scientist based in the London office of Technopolis Group. He has experience working in domestic and international public organisations across a range of economic policy areas. He has developed expertise in applying quantitative and data science methods to policy analysis in topics including labour markets and skills, pension systems and public finance. 

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Diego worked for the OECD Directorate for Employment, Labour Markets and Social Affairs. During this time, he led the quantitative work for several policy projects analysing skill demand in OECD labour markets, working with large-scale datasets and applying Natural Language Processing and Social Network Analysis methods. Previously, Diego worked as an Advisor in fiscal policy for the Ministry of Finance of Colombia, where he provided technical support in the preparation of bills and reform proposals for the social security sector and contributed to preparing the country’s Medium-term Fiscal Framework. He also has prior experience designing data collection strategies and conducting analytical work for impact evaluation projects.

Diego holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and a Master’s degree in Data science from the Barcelona School of Economics. He is a native Spanish speaker, fluent in English and has basic knowledge of French.
