Fabrizio Guzzo’s career has developed at the intersection of science and policymaking, with a focus on local and regional development, as well as research and innovation policy. He has extensive experience collaborating with public administrations at international, national and regional levels, providing evidence-based recommendations and support for policy design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Before joining Technopolis Group, Fabrizio spent six years at the European Commission´s Joint Research Centre, where he conducted research and supported EU regions and countries in the design and implementation of Smart Specialisation Strategies and territorial development initiatives under EU Cohesion policy.
Earlier in his career, Fabrizio worked with national and regional authorities, as well as private organisations, on territorial development, regional innovation and the design, implementation and analysis of public policies.
He has published numerous technical and policy reports, as well as papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Fabrizio holds a PhD in Science, Technology and Society form the University of Calabria (Italy), a MSc in Local Economic Development from the London School of Economics (UK) and a Master in Urban Management from Erasmus University (Rotterdam, NL). Additionally, He was an International Fellow at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, US).
A native Italian speaker, Fabrizio is fluent in English and Spanish.
