Deepak works with the Green Economy team at Technopolis UK. He engages in policy work focused on clean energy systems and net zero decarbonisation. He has more than ten years of multidisciplinary work experience in policy think tanks, local and international NGOs and consultancies.  

Deepak has contributed to strategic studies and evaluations for UK and EU public sector clients. He has supported projects involving a range of net zero themes such as offshore wind, energy flexibility, energy markets, hydrogen & CCUS, buildings and industrial decarbonisation.  He has methodological expertise in theory-based evaluations and co-leads the community of practice in the UK.  He has carried out end-to-end research involving design, research tools, fieldwork, analysis and synthesis of reports for complex policy topics. He is comfortable with a range of qualitative methods including desk research, interviews, focus group discussion, surveys, case studies, systematic and rapid evidence reviews.  

Before joining Technopolis Group, Deepak worked as a programme manager in the Global SDG7 Hubs programme, a south-south knowledge exchange platform to scale up energy ecosystems in Africa, South and South East Asia. He was on-site in Myanmar leading an Agence Française de Développement (AFD) consortium on improving climate resilience for communities living in precarious urban settlements.  

With a degree in engineering, an MBA, and an MSc in Energy and Climate policy, he has a strong academic foundation to policy research. He has undertaken advanced training on the integration and regulation of renewable energy at the Florence School of Regulation, Italy. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Malayalam.
