Data is generated everywhere – whether in the smart mobility transition, in the medical context or in research. But how can a secure and trustworthy handling of this data be achieved? The use of data trustees (or data intermediaries) may be part of the answer.

Together with our partners from Fraunhofer ISI, the legal experts from Law and Innovation and the engineers from GRI Building and Indoor Climate Technology, as well as in cooperation with Arctik, the communications agency of the Technopolis Group, we will be working (on behalf of the German Ministry for Research and Education) on various dimensions of data trustees over the next few years. We examine technical and legal aspects, work on possible business models of data trustees and analyze questions of societal acceptance. In addition, we network the 18 funded BMBF projects and organize joint workshops.

We are looking forward to exciting years on a hot topic.
