Guillermo Larbalestier has diverse experience in policy research and evaluation. He is an economist by training skilled in applying quantitative and qualitative methods used in evaluations and impact assessments including statistical and econometric analysis of survey data and secondary data, literature reviews and desk research. Guillermo has an interest in interdisciplinary research and will provide support across all of Technopolis’ thematic areas.

Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Guillermo worked as a Research Assistant at the UK Trade Policy Observatory at the University of Sussex where he contributed to numerous evidence-based policy briefs that evaluate and provide policy recommendation on UK trade policy after Brexit. His research output has featured in research briefings by UK Parliament and news media including The Guardian, The Independent, and The Economist. Guillermo also provided teaching assistance in introductory and advanced modules offered to undergraduate and postgraduate students in economics at the University of Sussex. In parallel, he worked as a Consultant at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) assisting on impact assessments of various development and research programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Guillermo obtained his undergraduate (BSc) and postgraduate (MSc) diplomas in Economics from the University of Sussex in Brighton. He is fluent in English and Spanish and has a good knowledge of German and Swiss German.
