Eva Hendriks is Principal Consultant at Technopolis group with 15 years of experience in the themes of climate adaptation, water management, green economy and sustainable finance. Eva has a strong track record in driving systemic change, cross-sectoral collaboration, and inclusive governance.
She has extensive experience in impact assessments, cost-benefit analyses and quantitative and qualitative research and policy development, implementation and evaluation in the context of environmental protection, climate adaptation and green and resilient economic growth.
Before joining Technopolis group Eva was the principal economist for the environment for the New Zealand government. She has contributed to the climate adaptation framework, sustainable financing strategy for climate resilience and she was the leading economic expert in replacing New Zealand’s Resource Management Act with a more resilient and sustainable resource management system and developing cost-sharing frameworks for natural disasters.
She has obtained expert knowledge of biodiversity and environmental protection policies across the world. Prior to that Eva served as Principal Tribal Advisor to Ngāi Tahu, New Zealand’s largest Māori tribe, where she led negotiations with local and regional governments to establish a pioneering co-governance framework for natural resource management. She has established a citizen engagement platform for water management, a diversified funding model, outcomes now considered a national benchmark for Indigenous–government partnerships.
Eva holds a PhD in law and economics, an MSc and MPhil in Economics and an LLM in International and European Union Law. She combines her deep academic grounding with practical experience across policy, negotiation, and implementation-making her a uniquely effective connector between people, ideas, and systems in the pursuit of just and sustainable outcomes.
