Abybah Traoré is a Senior Consultant at Technopolis Africa – Technopolis Group regional African subsidiary based in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. She has experience supporting decision-makers in private, public, and social sectors to navigate change, manage risks, capture opportunities and deliver meaningful outcomes. She cumulates 10+ years of experiences spanning project and operations management, strategic analysis and planning, monitoring and evaluation of strategic plans, within both industry and consulting settings. She has thematic expertise and interest in the cross-cutting areas of private sector development (Industry, SMEs and start-ups) and finance, innovation and digital transformation, green economy and energy transition. She has successfully applied a range of research and evaluation methods including participatory consultations (group discussions, interviews, surveys), desk research, literature review and case studies.
Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Abybah worked as an independent consultant with Camber Collective, to support a USAID-funded partnership project (West Africa Breakthrough Action and Research) for social and behavioural change in health services, leveraging design thinking approaches to facilitate gender inclusion and to improve client experience and provider delivery. She also assisted entrepreneurs to develop and implement fit-for-purpose strategic plans. Prior to that, she has worked with Baringa Partners UK to inform industrial businesses and financial services institutions on climate change and energy transition, enabling them to develop a sound understanding of their portfolios impact, critical risks and opportunities, and to adjust their strategies towards net-zero by 2050. Previously, she managed the delivery of innovative solutions to upstream energy challenges (projects, services and technologies) within Schlumberger for 6 years, providing strategic and operational leadership, and cultivating trust-based relations with stakeholders globally. She started her career as a consulting engineer on renewable energy and agro-industrial value chains in Côte d’Ivoire. She also mentors and volunteers for initiatives promoting education, STEM fields, and diversity, equity and inclusion.
Abybah earned an MBA from Warwick Business School, with a focus on Strategy and Innovation, and she was awarded a Chevening Partner Scholarship by the UK Government’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). She also holds a MSc in Industrial Engineering with a major in Energy from the Polytechnic Institute of Côte d’Ivoire. She has additional education in business and entrepreneurship from Rutgers University, as President Obama’s Young African Leader / Mandela Washington Fellowship awardee by the U.S. Department of State.
Abybah has developed the ability to collaborate in dynamic environments, across functions and regions (Africa, Western Europe, Middle East, and North America). She is a French native speaker, is fluent in English, and has a knowledge of Spanish. She is Ivorian, and she enjoys exploring places and cultures, cooking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
