The Austrian office of Technopolis was founded in Vienna in 2000. Our international and interdisciplinary team offers extensive expertise in the fields of policy evaluation, policy design as well as strategy development.

We work closely with national, international and regional organisations in the field of science, innovation and technology policy as well as in other areas, in close cooperation with colleagues at all Technopolis Group locations. In recent years, we have placed a special focus on institutional developments, e.g. with regard to governance structures of organisations, monitoring systems and their strategic use, or with reference to individual programmes and funding portfolios in their institutional context.

Specifically, our services include evaluations of programmes and activities in research and innovation, higher education, or interface topics in the areas of international cooperation, digitisation, energy, circular economy, communication, or intellectual property and standardisation. Another service area is the support of research institutions, public administration bodies and agencies in questions of governance, management and strategy development for which we can combine our process-related know-how with our competences in applied social research.

Our team is active internationally and nationally. Our clients are, for example, the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank, the European Patent Office, ministries in Austria and Germany at both federal and regional level, agencies such as the FFG or the aws, or relevant foundations and intermediaries.
