Dr Holly Chard is a Consultant for Technopolis UK. Her background is in Media and Communications and Higher Education, with over 10 years experience of research and teaching in UK universities. She is particularly interested in public communications campaigns; the role of media in society; the impact of digital technologies on media industries; and equality, diversity, and inclusion in Higher Education and Research. Holly is proficient in qualitative research methods, including interviews, surveys, focus groups, case studies, desk resesarch, and literature reviews.
Prior to joining Technopolis Group, Holly was a Senior Lecturer in Contemporary Screen Media at the University of Brighton, where her work spanned media and communications, film, and journalism. She also participated in various university-wide projects, primarily in the areas of widening participation and digital technologies. Previously, Holly worked for City & Guilds Kineo, gaining knowledge of skills education and digital learning. She has also worked as a freelance website manager and copywriter.
While studying for a PhD in Media and Film Studies at the University of Sussex, Holly was an Associate Tutor and Widening Participation Tutor in the university’s school of Media, Film and Music and worked across several arts venues. As well as a doctorate, she holds an MA in Film Studies from the University of Sussex and a BA(hons) degree in Drama from the University of Manchester. She is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA/Advance HE). Holly is fluent in English and has a basic understanding of Spanish and French.
