Rita Cimatti is a Consultant at Technopolis, having joined in May 2020. She has a multidisciplinary background in international relations and creative industries, with a particular interest in the interplay between economics and culture. Rita has developed expertise in public policy evaluations in the area of higher education, innovation and sustainability. Previous assignments include evaluations, impact assessments and studies for international, European and national institutions. She applies a wide range of research methods, such as surveys, desk research, interviews and data analysis, in addition to being a case study author. 

Rita has contributed to multiple projects, including the study on the Role of international partnerships in HE for the Sustainable Development Goals (for the British Council and ACU), the evaluation of the Growth Hub programme (for the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy), the Policy Fellowships study (for the Royal Academy of Engineering), as well as the economic analysis of patented innovations in Europe and beyond. Rita also supports on HEInnovate, an initiative that engages higher education institutions globally to become more innovative and entrepreneurial, supporting stakeholder engagement for the webinar series, development of online learning materials as well as writing webinar summary articles. 

Prior to joining Technopolis, Rita worked at a Brighton marketing agency and management consultancy, performing multi-channel data analysis, project management, business development and developing strategies for effective digital capability.

Rita obtained her undergraduate degree in International Relations from the University of Bologna, completing at the same time a year studying abroad at University of California, Los Angeles. She holds a Master’s degree in Cultural and Creative Industries from the University of Sussex. She is fluent in Italian, English and has a good knowledge of French.
