Technopolis was established in Brighton in 1989 as a spin-off from the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex. Since then, it has grown into a global consultancy, with offices in both London and Brighton. We work closely with colleagues across the Technopolis Group to deliver major projects throughout Europe and around the world.
Technopolis UK provides insights for policy makers across the policy cycle, conducting studies and evaluations across a wide range of policy domains. We have specialised teams working in Science, Technology, and Innovation (including Digital), Green Economy (including Energy and Environmental Policy), Life Science and Health, Education and Skills, International Development, with a rapidly growing presence in areas related culture and media, and communications.

Who we work for and with
Our Approach
Our experts master a broad range of methodological approaches. Our skills range from economic modelling (including econometric and counterfactual analysis, and ad-hoc modelling) to theory-based methods, stakeholder consultations and deliberative techniques. We often employ large-scale international surveys, longitudinal impact case studies and cost-benefit analyses, as well as specialist techniques such as scientometrics.
We also mobilise Data Science and AI capabilities to cut through vast amounts of structured and unstructured data to provide insights that would go otherwise undetected, to the benefit our clients and stakeholders.
